That's what we've been calling my mom these days. She gets into these crazy health situations and always finds a way out! All by God's grace.

Debbie, my sister, (also known as Deb, Bobbi or Debbers) came up to take mom out on a day full of errands in a neighboring town. They have done this journey successfully and uneventfully for a few months now.

But not this time.

They'd just gotten into the car and headed down the road when my mom slumped over and when Deb reached over to help her sit back up, she says she felt the jolt from mom's defibrillator.

Of course it's during the one hour of the week I'm working and don't hear my phone. Mom's taken to the E.R. and admitted to our local hospital. They keep her in the ICU and begin a new med. The consensus is that despite mom's terrible past reactions, she HAS to be on a beta blocker to keep her heart functioning in a healthy rhythm, hopefully preventing any more shocks.

The following day after a rowdy game of Fact or Crap, they take mom for a little stroll down the hall in preparation for her being released later that day.

And that's when her heart went all Chaka Khan.

She was shocked during the walk and then a few more times in the bed. Her general physician and a wonderful friend of ours came and made the decision to send her to Emory in Atlanta.

As I was driving to Atlanta at 10pm I had no idea that they only made it to Helen with mom in the ambulance and after a few more shocks, they called the helicopter to meet them in Helen in the middle of a pasture. They flew mom the rest of the way to Emory and by the time we saw her she was alert and feeling better, but completely wiped out by the SEVEN shocks. Insane!

She partied it up in the CCU and was then moved to a regular room. A heart cath was completed on Monday with no further procedures. They began some new meds. After coming home late Monday night, we've already been to the doctor's office two more times.

Please continue to pray that mom can adjust to the side effects of these necessary medications. She is currently staying with us and I know of two little girls that are super happy with this arrangement. :o)
